I'm so glad I invested the money and time in LifeWork 2.0! I am exited about setting up my blog and starting down the blog path. I understand better the mechanics of blogging as well as the purpose and benefits of blogging after attending LifeWork 2.0. Thanks Randy and Spence! As a "Newbie" to the Blog and Microblog world I have only 1 suggestion for future conferences. Prior to the conference send out some preliminary information or provide a link to information that would give everyone a foundation to start from. Specifically, vocabulary. I think that if some of the basic vocabulary is already defined then there will be a common language to start with and build on throughout the day.

LifeWork 2.0 was an eye opener for me. I believe that it has changed my perspective of just how the web works today. As a technology professional for the last 10 years, it has come to my understanding just how powerful the internet is in connecting people together. I see the internet as a way to bring people together from all parts of the world in a way that has never before been possible. LifeWork 2.0 describes and helped me see how this is possible and showed me ways to do it. I believe that the principals set forth by Randy and Spence are ground breaking in the sense they lay the facts out the way they are. They do not blur the reality of how and why people use the internet. The simple fact is people want information and they want it NOW. They are not interested in living in the internet but living WITH the internet. What I am trying to say is the internet is now part of life and needs to be embraced and used for enjoying the incredible communications it can offer. Blogging is a large part of that and LifeWork 2.0 emphasized that. I will be happy to say I am a convertee due to the simple fact that I believe Blogging is the future of online expression simply because nearly anyone can do it. It is just that simple. You don’t have to be a website programmer or graphic artist to post information that many people will find beneficial to them. This is the power of the Blog and I believe that anyone who is using the internet should have one.
Some comments regarding the seminar layout. I truly believe it should be a 2 part seminar minimally. This is due to the shear amount of information that is trying to be conveyed in a very short period of time. I would recommend splitting it up into 2 sections. The first seminar would be focused on the basics of the internet technologies and the definitions used to describe the more advanced topics that would be discussed in the later more advanced section. This would help those who are not as familiar with the web and how it works to become more familiar. It would also make the discussions in the advanced seminar more interesting because of the knowledge that would be gained from going through the basics. Obviously the second seminar would be the advanced version of the first. It would dive more into the meat of SEO, marketing strategies and the tools that can be used to create your online Blog. It would also again let those that have more advanced questions be able to not frustrate those that might not have any idea what they are talking about.
In summary, LifeWork 2.0 is an experience I would recommend to any person interested in seeing just how powerful and effective the online community experience can be and how to use that power to reach people with your message. In regards to my work in the reaching people with the Gospel of Christ, it IS the way of finishing the Great Commission here on earth.

The seminar was incredible. I learned so much and will be applying all of it. Lifework 2.0 was worth every penny. Don't forget Arizona was well represented there too!

I'll be posting some further comment/review over the weekend, but I thought this video blog post was interesting in light of our conversation of Web 2.0 technologies and the church. I thought I would share it with my Lifework 2.0 cohorts.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at LifeWork 2.0 in Franklin. It was money and time well spent. Randy and Spence, you did an excellent job presenting the both basic and more advanced topics.
Though I already knew a considerable amount of the basics, it was very useful to see them again as I rebuild WildrLog on the Wordpress platform.
One critique that I have is we really didn't discuss news feeds very much. I believe news feeds having an important part of the future of web publishing.
1. its important to get noticed in search engines (this was a great session by the way Randy), as that's how you will be found
2. its important to note the growing number of people of once they've found a cool blog, never visit the website again. Instead, they add the feed to their feed reader. I use Google Reader all the time. Feeds are how you will be increasingly tracked.
I really enjoyed meeting everyone and hope it will not be the last time I see these bloggers.

just finished attending this cool session on SEO for Developers at Microsoft TechED in Orlando and thouggt I'd share the link to the slides from the presenter's blog.

lots obviously leans to MS Live search, but I thought a lot of it is generic for Yahoo and Google as well.
Cheers!
